Root Rooting Precedent, Unrecognized Device.

I'm about to pull my hair out. I've been trying to root my samsung precedent for a while.

The problem that keeps on occuring is that my computers do not recognize the phone. (Yes, I have installed the samsung drivers, and yes I am using the RTTO)

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

The first time I used Odin I had the same problem. It turned out I wasn't following the directions properly. I'm not saying this is the problem for you, but the procedure has steps that need to be followed in order.

I've also heard that the USB cable you use matters, though I've never had an issue with mine.
