Root Rooting problem

Skrapi

Newbie
Hey guys, I recently used the z4root thing and the oc... something,

worked I think... it was doing its job and then it went and that was it...

I went into recovery mode as it told me to and click the update.zip thing and it came up with E:signature... something, I know this aint very detailed, im shattered lol.

Now that I am using my phone anyway, it is lagging like hell, and I mean seriously lagging..

Does this mean it has rooted but I just need to do the Lag fix? if so that's another problem lol, it wont let me do lag fix, because well I don't think my phone is rooted... unless there is something I am missing.

Thanks people!

It is:

Model Number: GT-I9000
Firmware Version: 2.2.1
Baseband Version: I9000XXJPY
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 root@SEP-51 #1
Build Number: FROYO.XXJPY

It seems you are missing something. The problem you described with the words "E:signature... something, I know this aint very detailed, im shattered lol." is that, you have 3e recovery, not 2e. That means you cannot use unsigned zip files. There is a way to turn back to 2e recovery, search xda forums for the keywords "3e to 2e recovery". I can't remember but I think there was a kernel you flash via Odin...

That's all I know.
