Root Rooting Problems

Hello Wise People of the Internet,

So, I recently tried to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab S with this tutorial. Unfortunately, I failed to notice that this was for Android 4.4.2 and my Tab S is currently running 5.0.2 (I know , I'm a terrible person, please forgive me). So, after attempting the root, everything appeared to work fine...until I noticed that nothing was working. I got a root checker and it confirmed that I was not rooted. My main problem lies in that it did install SuperSU and whenever I open SuperSU, it asks me to update binaries, however, no matter which method I choose (Normal or TWRP/CWM) they both fail. Honestly, it wouldn't be a huge problem except for the fact that some of my favorite apps, like Spotify, don't work anymore for some reason. My question is, how should I go about fixing this. It says that SuperSU is a default application, cannot be uninstalled, only hidden. I am guessing I should either reroot or factory reset. And I really really do not want to factory reset. I did not back up my device (I know, I know, stupid yet again). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

Lucas
