Root Rooting Questions

Alright guys, I want you to persuade me to root my phone. I've had the Razr MAXX for a couple of months now and I am in love. The performance is amazing. This is why I am kind of tempted to not root (but I want to at the same time ha). I had the HTC Thunderbolt before going to the MAXX and ended up rooting it to get Sense 3.0 since it was never going to get it, so I had a reason to root. But now with the MAXX, I'm not quite sure if it is necessary. What do you all think? Does the performance really change a lot once rooted? And by the way, it's not a matter of I don't want to do it or I don't know how, I'm very technically inclined so I know exactly how to do it LOL.. I would just like some opinions before I void my warranty HA

Well, rooting itself doesn't change anything but what you can do with it is limitless. Custom roms that are a million times better and faster than stock, titanium backup to back up your apps AND data, Kexec is getting close to bring functional and with that will bring cm9 and cm10 and fully working jelly bean roms.

Imo the benefits greatly outweigh the risks of rooting. And you can always return to stock if you have to send your phone in for whatever reason.

What is this about Verizon and Motorola knowing if you have a rooted phone? Is it legit? I would hate to root it and then have something happen to it and then unroot and try and get a new phone and then have them tell me no because it has been rooted..How could they know it had been rooted in the first place?

As far as i know, after flash stock firmware all the root permission lost and no one can identify its rooted. However after unlock the bootloader, i have no clear idea.

I've returned numerous phones after birth have unrooted them with no problems.

AND it is against the law for them to void the warranty with out being able to prove that rooting caused whatever problem you are sending your phone back for.
