Rooting/ROMing/Battery pulls??

I've got a Droid X at the moment, but I'm more than likely upgrading to the Maxx as soon as my current contract is up in a few weeks. My X is currently rooted and running the Liberty 3 ROM, but I've experimented with a few other ROMs over the past few months, too, and like the extra features and customizability available by doing that.

If I understand it correctly, rooting the Maxx has already been done and is no big deal, but what happens if something goes wrong in the flashing process? With the X you can just pull the battery and start over if necessary, but with the Maxx's internal battery, that's obviously not an option. Anyone got any thoughts or experiences to share? Also, have the official Maxx SBFs been released yet?

I'm curious what to do about battery pulls too...

What if the phone is 'stuck' and needs a batt pull to reboot it (with or without rooting)?

Never been in a bootloop, but from what I understand it does the same as a battery pull.
