Root rooting samsung captivate 2.2

hello,

i own a samsung captivate and was interested in rooting it and installing cyanogen. my FW is 2.2 build number froyo.uckb2. i was thinking in following that guide:

will it work, or do i need to update to a newer fw?

If you are using Froyo (2.2) I believe the program superoneclick works just fine and roots very easily. Just google, download, connect computer and click.
Hope it works.
I recommend you move to gingerbread tho...
