Root Rooting the Nexus S

Hexbomber

Lurker
Hey all,

So I just got my first android phone a month or so ago, I opted for the Samsung Nexus S (I9020AUCKF1), and it's running Android 2.3.6 (GRK39F) on Rogers Wireless here in Canada.

As of now I'm looking into trying to root it but I guess I'm a bit concerned. I'm pretty broke and couldn't afford a new phone if I brick this one :P. So anyway I've been doing a ton of research, and there are literally dozens of different rooting methods and processes that people have used and have worked over the past, I guess I'm just trying to weed out what is still new and what is outdated.

I've searched through this forum and a bunch others but I haven't found anything pertaining to my particular model number, or anything with Android 2.3.6 on it.

Thanks for any help! It's greatly appreciated!

Welcome aboard Android Forums, Hexbomber. Thank you for joining us.

I've moved your query about rooting the Nexus S to the All Things Root sub-forum of the Nexus S device area for you.

I'm sure that users of that model will chime in with the right advice for you.

Good luck. Have fun. ;)
