Rooting the SGSII

Hey..A very helpful community of pals around here. had a curious doubt.. today i rooted my galaxys2 with CLK XWKF3 kernel..

i wanted to know whether i can change ma kernel version to KI3 or any other kernel version..n if i need to do so what are the steps to be taken???

Yeah your can root your phone with any kernel. Ki3 is the latest so best to go for this. Before flashing the ki3 kernel you should update your firmware to ki3 as well. Use the following guide to flash the firmware then flash the rooted ki3 kernel the same way you did before.

Currently my versions of PDA,Phone n CSC are :
PDA : I9100XWKF3
PHONE : I9100DDKE4
CSC : I9100DDKF3

i have learnt tht CSC should match the country code (in mycase INDIA - DD). But what about Phone n PDA..Should the Version's (KF* and KE*) of the Phone,PDA and CSC Match..???

i have downloaded a Litenin ROM 1.4 to flash the firmware..it says its based on KE7.Will it be fine if i just flash ma phone with that ROM with the same stock CSC n Phone ??

I've flashed a few firmware updates and have never changed my csc so it doesn't matter if they mismatch. Ideally your phone and pda should match however I've used kh3 modem (phone) on a kg6 firmware (pda) as it gave me better reception so it isn't essential they match. Anyway I think when you flash lite'ning rom it updates both your phone and pda anyway. If you want to go for lite'ning rom I would recommend 6.1 as its the latest. It will be fine to flash on your phone how it is.
