I have a Sprint Samsung GS3. Is it possible to root the phone through ftp file trnsfer?....and if so what site would I go to to download the files?

I don't really believe it's possible to root your SGS3 via an FTP file transfer--I've actually never heard of a root exploit that employs that method. You will likely do some downloads that might use FTP, but not for the root exploit itself.
