First off, I CANNOT TURN THE S-OFF IN THE BOOTLOADER. I connect the phone to my computer (Win 8 64-Bit) start HTC Sync on the phone and computer. Then the phone says, "Cannot find HTC Sync on your computer." WTF Should I do? I installed Sync from the HTC website, should I install from my Phone instead?

Second, How do I update to Android 2.3.5? and the new Sense Version?

THE PHONE IS U.S. CELLULAR.

Welcome to Android Forums :hello:

You don't need to get s-off, just unlock the bootloader.

When you connect the USB cable, what option are you choosing on your phone? Should be charge only.

Your phone cannot be upgraded to 2.3.5 because the highest release for CDMA carriers is 2.3.4. All the 2.3.5 phones out there are GSM (requires a sim card).

Hope that answers your questions!

Also, I moved the thread to the All Things Root section since it pertains to rooting.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. Can you be more specific?

What Cafe is saying is that you can't just turn S-off just like that, there is a whole procedure to it.
First of you will have to unlock the bootloader like he has mentioned. (Welcome to HTCdev) Once done, there is a rooting procedure which needs to be done which will s-off your phone.
However nowadays it is not necessary to obtain s-off anymore. You can root your phone and still be s-on

Up to you to chose. But I do believe that the guide mentioned above is a bit more difficult for Marvelc phones for some reason. They seem to have more difficulties. If that doesn't work, there should be a guide somewhere about creating a goldcard to obtain root priviledges.
