Help Rooting

Hello there!
Well, there is an option to ODIN back to stock.
What is your device model, complete model such as "G570F" or something.
That way we can lead you down the correct path and perhaps move this thread to your device forum so others with the device can help out :)

Hello and thank you for your fast reply.

I think I solved the issue, at least temporarily, by running the archive with only the recovery.img inside of it. The device seems to have booted well.

My device is a Samsung Galaxy J5 J500FN. Sorry if I did not state this before.

However, my device is still not rooted, and I really need to root it to recover a contact number I erased one week ago. I do not know of a way to recover these without rooting.

Well, as far as rooting to recover the deleted contact number, I'm not really sure that is possible....at least I've not heard of success with recovering that just by rooting. Once erased or deleted, it's gone :(

Where did you get that info? I mean, the possibility of recovering the contact number?

Fwiw, if your device ever gets borked and you only can boot into download mode, the best place to get the firmware for your device to flash via ODIN is sammobile.com.

Edit: by the way, I moved your thread to the J5 forum ;)

After the rooting your chance for any recovery if almost zero. About the contact I am not sure if it is possible at all. Recovery might be done for files. Files normally not deleted, space they are used is marked as deleted, so it can be reused for another files. Until space is not reused, it can be recovered.
After rooting, most space will be reused, recovery will fail.
