I'm trying to root my HTC m8 with htcdev.com when I come to command prompt and enter wat the 5th step says nothing happens it says can't find command so I'm stuck .

I might be able to help, but I'm not clear on what exactly you're doing, much less what 5th step you're referring to. A URL or a copy of the directions you're trying to follow would be immensely helpful. Also, what carrier are you on? Because if you're on Verizon then I suspect what you're doing won't work in any case.
