[Rumors] Nexus 2 based on Galaxy S

If true I hope Samsung gets their act together and fix the GPS and laggy filesystem... so the Nexus 2 will be a viable device to switch to when... eh IF Samsung can't fix it on the SGS. ;)
 
and pigs might fly it will be a new phone from samsung there not going to release a galaxy s as the nexus 2 because of the bugs so they will release a new phone with no bugs and call it nexus 2 and samsung will forget about the galaxy s phones

The good thing is the developer community should be able to easily port nexus two Roms to galaxy s devices.
 
The story I have heard is the 'new fast ROM which is being worked on for the SGS is in this Nexus 2 (named the i9010).

That was the good news..... The bad news is this new ROM for the present SGS is not going well.
It didn't make it into the recently released Japanese SGS fitted with Froyo.
 
I know this is the probably unwelcome return of my anti-samsung negativity but Samsung wont get this right.

Even if Google were driving things Samsung's engineers and management would still be heavily involved.

After everything that has happened with the Galaxy S surely Google wouldn't want to be so closely associated with something from Samsung....

I know what you are saying karnka and no one would blame you for thinking this way.

I'm going to keep a close eye on how this pans out but....
...... truth be told, surprising what money can do isn't it.
 
Trying to put a slightly more positive spin on things for a change.

Perhaps Samsung have realised how truly awful they've been with Android and are looking at a joint project with Google as an excuse to learn how to do things properly.
 
If you hate'em so much, why would you bother to buy their device? I realy don't get it!

As for the rom, the bugs and all, I'm currently running JH2 (2.1), no lagfix, no rooting and the device works like a charm. I realy don't get what's all the fuss about with some of the SGS users...

Sigh - I really wish I hadn't bought the device. Is that not obvious.
 
I don't want to get sucked into this. I've posted a lot of my frustrations here if you want to go and find some background.

I am getting rid of my Galaxy S once I decide what exactly to replace it with. I said recently I would stop posting on this board and this managed to pull me back in again. I guess I should stick to what I said.

Wow i certainly will consider this phone when it comes out. Only problem is that i have a Desire HD on preorder. And i really don't want to cancel it now after waiting so long. I'll wait for release of the Nexus S, see reviews, judge whether it's better than the DHD, and sell the DHD if i end up liking the N2 more.
