Ive always had my LG volt rooted. But never flashed any ROMs, now that there are some out Ive been trying a few. I was really running Z5 stock rooted then seen an update about Z6 and checked online if id loose root or could reroot after update but couldnt find much info on it, so i just randomly started trying out some custom ROMs. I tried the SlimRom KK with CM12.1 Kernel first, Then went to the CM12.1 ROM itself, then I tried the blisspop 5.1 ROM and for some reason there was something about each one i didnt like... I was going to go back to my Z5 and saw a Carbon KK ROM so i flashed it before going to stock again and i kinda like it the most.
The only thing I dont like is, there is no stock messaging app it wants to use google hangouts, and i dont want that so after looking around I found everyone saying to use EvolveSMS. EvolveSMS is good enough for me, but I cant send or receive MMS, and every SMS i send fails the first time, and i have to hit RETRY and itll work the 2nd time, and my signal and service seems to be lower and more sensitive, like jumps from full bars to none just moving it 3 feet when its somewhere i normally had full service at all times. Ive been on wifi so i didnt try out the data connection...
I did the VM carrier fix, and the MMS fix, and no difference..
Can I update the PRL or do anything like that? Should i be on LTE/CDMA setting when i use the dialer code: *#*#4636#*#*
Are their any other fixes or settings i can or should do? Or is there a stable KK ROM out there? I honestly like stock the best, i just wish i could tweak a few internal settings on that... I might just go back to that if not.
