while searching the web i found different apps that aparently integrate a desktop type linux os into the android os. this would open up the capabilities and functions an android systen can perform. i am sure it would use alot of storage and menory. i am curious if anybody here has tried this on an admire or any other android phone.

Holy crap I didn't know we could run unbuntu on android

Edit: I tried but it said image not found "something like that" :(

I haven't tried it but I plan on trying soon. The full on Ubuntu is 2GB and the stripped is about 1.5GB. You can download an app on the Play Store that gives you in app download links and instructions. I'll find the name of it for you and edit this post later.

Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zpwebsites.linuxonandroid

I didn't try this out all the way since I am at work, but they have a list of working devices with a kernel that supports loop devices. Not quite sure what that means but the Admire isn't on that list. Also, even if we had a kernel that supported "loop" we would only be able to run Debian. Although cool, I would rather use this on a device with a larger screen like the Galaxy or something.

it basically boiuls down to your device would boot a very small version of linux, and you would remote desktop connect to it and use it like normalish. its very limited and not many people bother keeping it

Compiling a build of Angstrom Linux would be where it's at with this device.
Angstrom is designed lightweight for portable devices.
Problem is, building it. Took me close to 2 months to build an image for the Archos 5it.
You'd also have to figure out how to dual boot with this device, as well as make kexec work.
All in all, a massive undertaking unfortunately.
