I'm a relatively new Captivate user, and I need some clarity.
I routinely use my phone as a vehicular GPS device while driving. Bluetooth it up to my car stereo so I can do hands free and play music on it. So I can be doing a lot with it at any given moment. In order to prevent battery drain, I mount it in my vehicle, and plug it into the 12v power plug with a micro-USB power outlet.
After extended use, I find the battery gets very hot, and eventually dies down (when I unplug it, it instantly tells me I need to put it on the charger).
Is there any way to set the phone so when I plug it in, it just runs off the external power and not off the battery at all? Shouldn't the external power connection provide enough power to run the phone and still charge it a little bit?
Anyways, I'm a bit frustrated that it burns my battery down while it's plugged in.
