Help S-Finder & Quick Connect Options

I've had my N4 (on VM) for over a month now and loving it - I've been looking around to keep in touch when 5.0.1 drops and for the longest time I thought this feature was new on lollipop but apparently its kitkat, but where is it on my phone??

What I'm talking about is the { S Finder } & { * Quick Connect } buttons on the notification pull down, under the brightness slide and above the biginning of the notification list(s).

Is this a carrier specific thing or is there a way to turn it on and off?

Thanks!

I also notice when some people are in the settings menu you have tabs across the top, each tab has corresponding colored setting icons below, mine is one long list straight down. I've seen people go to the settings in "settings" and apply a "vista" view, which I also don't see - I just have the option to "Edit quick settings" & "Help"

I assume N4 means Note 4, and I assume VM means Virgin Mobile...however, I'm not aware of Virgin Mobile offering the Note 4...so did you port over a Sprint phone somehow, or did you mean VZW for Verizon as your carrier.

Also, I'm not sure what you're going on about with these particular 2 quick settings being located UNDER the volume control. I haven't seen that before. Can you get me a picture of this? Is that area of the pull-down customizable? By this, I mean can I choose something other than S Finder or Quick Connect to go there? Both of those toggles can be placed ABOVE the volume control, but I assume you know that already.

VM = Verizon (this site used to have carrier under avitar, didn't notice it wasn't there)

Its not a volume slide, its a brightness and resides under the two buttons I mention. See attached link, not the area in the green box but right under it, the two quick launch buttons.

And heres a example of the settings menu I mentioned on post 2, Mine doesn't have those tabs at the top, just a long list straight down separated into there own groups

Brightness slider indeed, not sure why I wrote volume. As for the tabs and those buttons, I've never seen them. It could be something Samsung does for European carriers.

Verizon has enough pull to get Samsung to move one of the microphones to the left by a coupe millimeters. I guess other carriers can ask for tabbed settings or extra buttons.

Given that we know of 34 separate SGS5 versions, what you suggest makes sense and isn't surprising.

Btw - not playing acronym Nazi, just trying to be helpful - most of our members are likely to read VM as Virgin Mobile. I agree not having carriers visible, like before, is silly.

Yeah, sry bout the carrier -
Thats why I thought at first it may be a lollipop thing but I saw it a while back, seems to be pretty cool, I know I have quick settings but being able to arrange them would be nice

AFAIK the only way to remove the S Finder and Quick Connect form the notification bar is by rooting and using the Wanam Xposed mods. That's how I did it (though there may be other ways)
