Help S II not connecting to Macbook

Hey, I am beyond frustrated trying to figure this out

I got the S II yesterday and I am trying to transfer some files into it and whenever I connect the S II to my macbook, it doesn't recognize it. I went to settings >> clicked on wireless and network >> USB utilities >>> and it shows USB connected. Clicked on disabled USB debugging and disabled/enabled it. Nothing works. Went to samsung website downloaded kiesmac and it still won't recognize my device.

I am running Mac OS X v 10.6.8 clicked on more info >>> USB and it's not showing samsung anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

To say the least, the usb transfer in-phone app is very inconsistent. I usually have to enable it about five times after it automatically cuts it off each time I try to use it. It eventually works, then I'm happy.
