S-Nexian Five A5000

That phone looks like a very CHEAP knock off. The pixel density is very low and it appears to be running some sort of Sense like skin (for HTC phones). If you're looking to save money, check out some 1 year old larger phones like the SGS2.

I'm a Yorkshireman so I always like to save money.
However, I don't like to buy rubbish but I'm less than familiar with what to look for in a phone.

Here's the spec.
4 inch (ish) screen.
AGPS
Ability to skype /yahoo
Really handy if I can read an external flashdrive

All the usual bits that are common on most phones.

You got that right.
Some research later told me you were 100% correct and the cheap stuff is worth what you pay for it - sod all.

That in mind, I've gone nuts and bought a Samsung Galaxy note.

WOW

I've spent 50% of my time playing with it and the other 50 in the shower, enjoying myself while thinking about it.

Thanks for the laugh! My friend has one and I always love messing with it when we're hanging out, it's a beast of a phone. However, I don't know if I could really get used to it and really like the size of my Nexus.
Enjoy and be sure to hang out in the Note forums!

The more I play; the more I like the thing.
A quid's worth of micro USB to USB socket adaptor allows me to read files from any of my many drives.
An original Samsung USB/HDMI lead sorted out the bunging it onto TV. Pity no A/V but you can't have everything.

I've slapped all my school text books on the thing (PDF format) and I'm working on the music to compliment the 'Party mixer' app I've downloaded.
I should mention, I was a DJ of the cheesy wedding party type in the UK and have been messing around doing the odd guest appearance on radio here.
I ended up very popular and almost famous while I was in Purwokerto, Central Java.
I've signed autographs.
Anyway, that app and a 3.5 to 2 1/4 jack lead sorts it directly into a mixer just in case I dragged into any studios I happen to be passing (Yes - I'm serious - That's happened a couple of times).

Oh yer, the Note - Wonderful, great, fantastic and all the other superlatives you can find in a dictionary.
One problem - I'm going to have to ration the shower time or my wife will be disappointed tonight.

Ice cream and showers.
Sounds good; more so when you consider the hot climate out here.
Mum is still here and I'm trying to sort out all the holiday snaps so I won't have chance to play properly until tomorrow.
I did snap a few with the phone and they've come out nicely.

The sat nav is wow.
No messing with that thing - a couple of seconds and you have position so you know the taxi driver is playing silly buggers to get the meter fare up a bit.

I'm very, very pleased so far.

Glory be to Allah.

I've just downloaded Google translate for the Note.
Speak in Indonesian and listen in the Queen's English.

They'll be doing real time translation next.
