Root S-Off but can't flash superuser 3.0.7

Details as they stand now;

Android 2.3.4

I've had a few Thunderbolts and like them a lot. Recently, Verizon OTA'ed me to ICS and it really hosed up my phone. So much so that they sent me a replacement with 2.3.4 on it and I'd actually like to keep that. My goal today was to root and disable OTA for better or worse and keep the phone like I like it.

I was able to manage the Revolutionary process and get to S-Off. It's actually a pretty slick procedure and works great up until I need to flash su-3.0-bin-efgh-signed.zip. That actually gives every indication of success but actual *root* never materializes. I'm checking with Titanium Backup and terminal and both show that I'm not root.

Has anyone gotten around this problem of not being able to flash the SU zip? What's the workaround?

As you can see by my massive post count, I usually can get through stuff by actually reading rather than spamming threads. I know I've spent a lot of time in a lot of forums today... Maybe I've been at this too long. :D

you are flashing superuser in recovery,correct? alot of folks just download it from the market,but thats not sufficient ;)

other than that,not sure id think that version should work with GB,but you could try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 (download link about halfway down the OP UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.20.zip)

sometimes i need to clear data from titanium,or even uninstall/reinstall it if for some reason the first request for root fails.

when you open a root app,are you getting the permission prompt?

Yep, from the purple recovery screen and also uninstalled the apps just to be sure. Good things to ask :) And no, I never got a perm prompt. My first inkling there was a problem was when the file manager wasn't letting me change from r/o to r/w.
<insert the few minutes it takes to implement your suggestion>
Sweet... mission accomplished. Thanks Scotty :D
