Root S-Off users - Which radio works best for you?

Hi all.

S-offed my phone and flashed a new radio (the one in the Fix Everything thread) and noticed that it really helped with my signal fluctuations, but my 3G is still slow to the point of being absolutely unusable. I've heard that some radios can speed up your 3G and increase your signal strength.

Just wondering which radios have worked best for you guys?

Also, was going to update to PRL 60690 but haven't yet felt like going through the process - Is updating to a sprint PRL worth it, speed/service wise?

I have only used the radio in leslieannes sticky, but my 3g seems to be fine. I can stream spotify no problems, that's really the only time I need 3g is when I'm in my car, I get wifi at home and work.

I'm still using the radio from leslie ann's thread but had to switch back to 61009 prl because the sprint one that she posted actually made my signal strength worse.

i updated it for the hell of it, it seems to be okay. no signal lose. QPST is the only tricky part but as long as you follow the steps you'll be fine.

I'm using the 530 radio but stuck with the VM 61009 PRL. I get a pretty solid signal 4-5 bars in buildings, max bars outside and zero radio resource errors.

I wish it wasn't so time consuming to find the right PRL + Radio combo.

I'm on the 0530 radio and the 60690 prl. Messages hardly ever fail to send now. But I have pretty bad reception, particularly indoors. It rarely goes over 2 bars.

I was outside for most of the day yesterday and I got full bars for the first time ever. But I still only get 1-2 bars most of the time.

Should I go back to the latest virgin mobile prl, or what?

I'm now using the 0518 radio with the 61009 PRL and it's flawless. For the first few hours I had low signal and a lot of fluctuations, but it seems to have cleared itself up. I now have 4-5 bars at almost all times, even indoors, and a big improvement in 3G speeds.

Once you do it the first time you can change prl's in about a minute so just go for it. Radio and prl choice unfortunately is not a one size fits all type of thing.

530 radio. Typically one bar higher than stock. Zero radio interface errors and that's what I actually cared about

I tried 530 for a day, and the "bars" jumped all over, but signal seemed stable.
Running 808 now, seems to work good, only been a day though.

i'm using the recommended radio from "fix everything by turning .. into evo 3d". I believe it's the 530 one. The bars on my evo still jump around, but that doesn't mean anything to me. I'm using a widget to monitor my signal via dBm, and it's very stable and consistent. The best part, is that there are no more "radio interface resource shortage" errors. (I had 2 of these errors right after i did s-off and flashed a new radio, but I've never seen the error ever again, and my signal has never fallen to -120dbm, unless i'm in a basement).
