Help S-Pen has to be pressed?

The S-Pen has to be pressed to get it recognized. Is it normal for all Notes?
I thought that it would work just like a finger, just sliding or touching the screen. (feathery touch)

It only requires a tiny amount of pressure to work. I am assuming the small amount needed is to distinguish a deliberate stroke from an accidental one while hovering. Some applications are sensitive to how much as well so you can get different effects by pressing slightly harder.

It is even recognised without touching the screen. You can make this effect visible in Settings->Pen settings and ticking hovering pen icon. This is particularly useful for web sites with hover menus or for Draw something when you need to add a connecting line ;-)

Be careful not to depress the side button during normal use. It is for special functions and interrupts the normal ones.
