S pen pro squirrelly with Fold 3

S Pen Pro with Z Fold 3 5G.
Pen continues to write while hovering. Thought the issue was the Pen, so reluctantly bought another. Same problem. Played with settings, rebooted, and cleared cache without any luck. Anyone have ideas?
 
Could be hardware. The screen is not as tough as Samsung claimed them to be. There is a class action lawsuit against Samsung about its screens not being durable.

I would take it in to get looked at. My z fold 3's screen protector on the foldout screen was coming off in the middle. I took it to a Samsung authorized repairshop inside a BestBuy store and they gave me just gave .e credit and I bought the z fold 4 with it.

Thank you ocnbrze. I'll look into it. One other symptom I forgot to mention..... after ignoring the s pen & it's issues for a month, I started successfully using it again. That lasted for a few days, then the squirrels moved in again.
