Help S pen

Im having some serious issues with my S pen. It is over active and registers touches on the screen without the pen actually making physical contact. I havent seen anyone else with this problem. Any ideas folks?

I pulled this from the UK manual, is this what is happening? This is by design

"S Pen Air View
When you hold the S Pen near the screen, a pointer appears on the screen. Move the pointer
to files, subjects, or options to preview the contents or view information in pop-up windows.
You can scroll through panels or lists by moving the pointer to an edge (top/bottom/left/
right) of the screen."

Thanks for replying. I think that is adding to it. But for example If I am writing a note I pull the pen away from the screen and from travelling frok my last letter to the "close" option. ..my pen will have drawn a random line....and sometimes it just has a mind of its own. Can they be calibrated?

Unfortunately I don't think it can, at least, not by user.

I would imagine it would need to be taken to a Sammy Service Center. Could be actual pen or phone fault though. If there are any shops selling Note 2's near you that may have some live on display, you could go and try a different S-pen. They aren't too expensive if that does turn out to be at fault. If not, service center... if its calibration issue they will calibrate, if its fault they should repair/replace under warranty.

Found this and it may be of help but as I don't have a Note 2 yet i don't know:

The pen has to be 'perpendicular' to the screen during that calibration for accurate results !

That means: First keep your Note somewhere horizontal (on the ground), Do the Horizontal and Gyro calibration (from Display settings), then goto Homescreen and scribble around the four corners while holding the S-PEN 'vertically' - Now check the result in S-Memo or any drawing app :)

Alternatively, some others have reported changing from right handed to left handed and back again corrects the calibration.

Thanks guys. Took the phone back to carphone warehouse today. Turns out I had a dodgy pen. Swapped it with another one and it works perfectly! Panic over
