S Planner questions?

To anyone who has the device or has done their full research on it, I have a few questions regarding the S Planner. If anyone could provide pictures that would be even more amazing.

One of the main reasons I'm purchasing the Note 2 is because of the S Planner, someone said I could make it really detailed.

I.E As highlighting major events or just color coding. Is this possible on the S Planner? I've seen pics but none have been super detailed. My job requires me to be at different locations everyday so I need something that'll help keep me really organized & in style :)

Thanks to anyone who can help. Sorry if my lingo isn't andriod savy or tech savy lol, I'm just a noob patiently waiting for this phone.

Hi there. S-Planner was the main reason I went for Note 2, too.
But I have to say I am a bit disappointed with it. The worst thing about it is that its widget is not supported by any non-stock launcher. So I have to stick to TouchViz now. Secondly, I expected that I could hold and drag an appointment in the week view to another date/time without having to edit it (the same feature is available on iPhone's WeekCal app), but you can only drag it within the same date. It does not move to another day.
To answer your question, no, there is no colour coding. The only thing that's available is you can add an icon that would describe the nature of your appointment.
I have tried to make screenshots for you.

Thanx Regnum.
I too have a query related to S-Planner, Can you be of help pl.?

1. My appointments sync with Google Calender but tasks dont. What could be the reason.
2. Once I select my Gmail calander for tasks, I cant change it to any other calander when I am trying to edit the tasks.

2. Once I select my Gmail calander for tasks, I cant change it to any other calander when I am trying to edit the tasks.

1. Try this: when creating/editing a task, click on "Task" bar, right above the Title. A menu will pop up where you can define the sync target. Select your Gmail address.
Also try this: while in S-planner, tap Menu -> Settings -> Calendars, look under My Task section and see what you have checked.

2. I don't have a solution for that, unless you delete it and create a new task. It just doesn't let you change it.

Thanx but on task bar I have selected gmail. When I check tasks on the google calander on my laptop they dont appear there although my appointments are syncing ok. Same when I create a task on laptop in Google calander, it does't appear on S planner in my GN2.

Tasks in S Planner don't sync with Gmail tasks. You need something like GTasks or Tasks.

Kind regards

Thank you for the insight to this. It makes the note lose some points but I think the many other features are still great so I'd still consider purchasing. Thanks again for explaining ;)

Just wanted to caution all S-planner fans who are buying Note 2 - keep in mind the S-planner's full-screen widget, which is a great thing, is not supported by any custom launcher. If you want to have it, you're stuck with TouchViz for good. Unless of course you know of any rooting options...

Thanx. But for tasks I will have to maintain GTasks and for appointment S planner. Not a good idea or GTasks can integrate with S Planner?. Incidently, GN2 User manual says S planner syncs Appoinments and Tasks with Google. Appoinments are syncing ok but Tasks dont. Where can I report this problem to Samsung officially?

There are plenty of discussions on this, but mainly questions rather then solutions. Check these out:

If you scroll in Calendar settings to the very bottom, under your Gmail account settings, you will find two e-mail addresses - both are the same, but one is localized. In my case it is in Arabic, so I can't tell what exactly it is. I checked that one too, but it did not sync. May be you'll be lucky, but it looks like Samsung is yet to come up with a solution.
I personally use GTasks, which is more simple and has a nice full-screen widget.

I have a quick question too actually. When ever i have an event on my planner, i get a notification/alert if the reminder is set which is great. However, the alert goes on forever until i actually turn it off or snooze it.

Is there anything i can do so that the alert only sounds once?

I am afraid this cannot be customized. It doesn't even offer you to choose the type of alert tone for S-Planner.

Wow thats pretty lame huh? Its a shame because its a really nice planner and the widget is great.

I guess ill just have to put up with it.

Does anyone know if the alarm goes on forever or will it stop after a while?

On another note...I've asked this on another thread but had no reply..does anyone know if you can change the colour scheme of the default email client? At the moment its black with white text..id like to inverse it.

Are you sure about this because I can do so on my Note 1. From within S-Planner go to Settings/Event Notification etc. You can also install your own musical tracks and alert sounds; there may be more tips for you in the other threads that have dealt with this.

The only thing i can change from there is the notification tone and whether i want to see an alert or not..but i cant see anything about changing the length of the notification...

Basically i just want to make sure i get an event notification, but only once, not forever until i turn it off :P

Different tones have different length and loudness, particularly if you install your own as mentioned in other threads. Far from ideal but it can be made to work....

Oh ok..thats not too bad then.. You see i thought the problem was that the note would infinitely loop the tone. I did not realise it was just playing the length of the tone..

Anybody have any answers regarding my Email app question above?

Thanks!

Hi!
I have a galaxy S III that I love & just purchased the Galaxy Note 10.1 today. I thought the s planner tasks would sync with my Note 10.1 s planner tasks but they don't.. how do I get this to happen? The rest of the calendar events (from multiple calendars google, etc) do.. so why aren't the tasks syncing? Support on Samsung USA mobile said they need to call me back... Help! I was so excited.. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Hi. You'll need to read this thread from the top. It does not help find the solution though... because theres is none at the moment.

Yes I meant I will purchase when it's available on Verizon :)

I have a Tmobile Note 2 and so far it appears that TMO and sprint don't have the s-planner. I don't know about ATT and Verizon yet, but it may be that only the international model has the s-planner. My international Gnote 1 had it, but my Note2 doesn't. It seems that a lot of the features that are bragged about in all the videos we see aren't even on the US versions. What a disappointment.
