Help S2 locking up constantly, taking forever to execute simple functions

I bought a Galaxy S 2 for AT&T a week or so ago. It was working beautifully up until I would say Thursday or so. It began to lock up horribly and take forever to perform certain functions. I'm not sure what to make of it since it happens with all apps across the board. I would google something or go to a web site and it would lock up. At first I thought it could be the reception but now even when I am hooked into my home wifi it lags. This morning I tried killing all apps and was just texting and it still locked up.

There isn't much more I can describe since it is locking up and lagging across the board.

Is there anything I can do to fix this without having to take it into AT&T? I have insurance and all that good stuff but just to save me a trip and such.

ive also been experiencing this, but mine will only freeze using slacker radio. When you say kill your apps, are you talking about the default 1 from samsung(widget) or are you talking about the advanced task killer?

When I use the inhouse app. However I found something on another thread that mentioned pulling the battery and doing a power drain(holding the power button down for 10-30 seconds) and then rebooting, which actually seems to have worked so far.
