Help S2 not recognizing SD card?

I have a 16GB SD card in the phone but whenever I download an app it still installs on the "USB storage" of the phone.

In the storage option, in the phone settings, I see the SD card at the very bottom of the list, but it's completely open (14.86GB) available for use. I've even used App2SD but it doesn't seem to remedy the problem. I was curious if anyone else has experienced this or if it was just a bug with my phone or SD card even, any help would be appreciated.

Go settings > applications and select a non-system app. You will get an option to move it to your SD card. Amazon has a setting to install straight to SD card.

Personally I prefer to install SGS2 apps onto the fone, with about 12GB there is plenty of room.

I see myself using my SD as more of a qwik media dump.
