i hope they solve the chip shortage soon.....did not know it was still a big deal. just googled it and they are saying it should end by summer of 2022.....crazy.

It is worth bearing in mind that for the first time, the Snapdragon models are the majority variant worldwide whilst the Exynos 2200 S22's are the minority devices and only being released in a few countries. Therefore, demand for the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 chips will be high and last year's S21 Exynos Ultra's, 512GB, were difficult to get hold of soon after the initial launch.

Not surprised to hear, though again this is strategic as well (at least in part). If you dont sell out and have a waitlist outlets will be posting articles like, "The END OF SAMSUNG?!?!?!" "Phones sitting on shelves" etc etc HAHA

It reminds me of the days of the Droid Incredible release. Demand far exceeded supply which drove the market to wanting the phone at an intense level. Was there a shortage??

The current pre-order situation, direct from Samsung in the U.K, for delivery on the 25th February for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 1TB model.

Other storage capacities for the S22 Ultra are, by-and-large, available as are the S22 5G and S22+ models.

Reports are that there is around a 4-5 week delay on the custom colours.

Some other countries are reporting a similar situation.
