Hey,

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S3, I am very pleased with the phone. But last week the sound stopped working for EVERYTHING on the phone.. I factory reset it twice, I used AVG to scan it etc.
I was convinced its a hardware issue, but I came home and it all of a sudden started working after a bit.

And it was working fine till a week later, today. It has the exact same issue, but it's not fixing itself this time, I downloaded the Soundboost app, the ********** app, the Wired Headset Routing Fix app, I factory reset it, I wiped the cache partition, I did everything I could think of.

(Blocking Mode is off, and the "Turn off all sounds" section is not checked)

I am almost certain its a software issue because the exact samething happened last week and it fixed itself..

Thank You.

The only problem there is that if it was a software issue then the factory data reset would have fixed it.

Have you performed a speaker test yet? If not then check that first because it can help narrow it down to a software or hardware issue and it only takes about 30 seconds. Make sure to test both speakers.

Oh and when you performed the backup and reset, you tried the phone WITHOUT any applications just to rule out the possibility of a faulty application right? Because if an application is causing trouble then the sound can certainly come and go like that. So you might want to reset and see if it works fine on a clean install.

If the reset doesn
