Help S3 Backup before firmware upgrade?

First off, I am new to Android
Second, I do not want to root my phone.

Ok I just connected my phone to the PC and Kies showed me this message

Now as far as I know, Android FW upgrade seems to wipe out all data.
But I have also read some posts which say it doesn't.
So I'm really confused as to whether Android FW upgrade wipes out the data or no.

Nevertheless, I need to backup my device.
Here is what I have done so far.
1.) Backup everything using MyBackup Pro
2.) Backup apps using Astro File Manager.
3.) Backed up SMS using SMS backup & Restore.
4.) Backed up everything on my PC when connected via USB
5.) Kies Backup currently running

Obviously I might look a little crazy, but hey I don't wanna lose my data.

Now My questions are
Will the FW upgrade wipe all the data?
Which method should I use to restore everything back if the data is lost?
Which is the best method to backup everything?

I am also looking at the ADB method to backup.

If nothing goes wrong which it shouldn't you will not lose any thing

I used kies for my fw update and it didn't erase anything. I think there was a option to hit while doing it, it was pretty easy.

What country are you in? What carrier?

No carrier it is unlocked

EDIT: Just did the OTA update and no data was lost.
