OK. Here is an issue I had that you probably won't. Unless you own the Samsung Galaxy S3... AND... the Sony Smartwatch... AND the S3 Desktop Dock, you can move right along. (By the way, the Smartwatch is great. I love it.)
The issue:
When you have a Smartwatch, plugging your S3 into the Desktop Dock will cause a one-time question to pop-up on your S3 screen. The question asks if you want to launch an app automatically when you attach your S3 to the dock. Well... the S3 already does this. It goes to a docking screen that shows time, date, weather. So why was the S3 asking me if I wanted to launch an application? I just assumed it wanted confirmation of what it was already doing, so I selected "Clock". Bad choice...
From then on, when I docked my S3, it went to the docking screen (good), but within a couple of seconds, it switched to the clock program page where you set alarms. This isn't what I intended and I just wanted to get back to the darn docking screen. I searched and searched, but couldn't find any way to set or clear a dock autostart program.
Forum posts were no help. Everyone said they were never prompted for a dock startup program. So why was my situation unique?
One day, while messing around with the Smartwatch application on my S3, I found the setting by accident. Apparently, the Smartwatch app controls a few other things than just the watch. It adds the dock auto-start capability also. Yea! Unchecked that little box and I was back to the expected behavior.
I'll post another writeup about my experiences with the Smartwatch, because it's worth spending more time on.
