s3 Not charging

My phone has been playing up from day 1. Literally the day after i bought it, it had started restarting and hasnt stopped. I took it back to the shop where i bought it from and they even "sent it abroad" (because i believe it did those 3 weeks sitting in their cupboard gathering dust untill a believable amount of time passed) and its still playing up

Lately a new issue has evolved. The phone is not charging. I plugged it in to a wall unit and also the pc and it still doesnt charge. The sign on the top right indicates it is charging but the percentage remains the same. I've actually left it from 6.00pm to 7.am the next morning charging but still nothing happens..any ideas?

Meannwhile, I'll ask you an oft asked question, and a remedy for those issues in many cases: have you attempted a factory data reset?
