S3 Resale Value For the Future.

I been thinking of how to resale my S3 in the future for a future phone like the S4 maybe if that's going to happen.

I want to keep it high value, my 32 gb marble white cost me $250 because it was an upgrade, and I want to resale it.

The At&t version is going to come out in red. Do you think I could switch my phone cover from white to red (on Sprint), so it be more "limited edition" and keep it high value?

I heard Samsung is going to come out with more colors for the S3 is not confirmed yet though. I want to sell it as close as I can to the cost of the next phone.

Anyways the point of the thread is how to keep the S3 high value.

Android phones never sell for as much as iPhones do. You can expect to get about 50% of the cost of your next phone by selling your current one.

I personally have my S3 running on Straight Talk. I save "about" $75.00 per month using this plan. I called AT&T and the best plan they could give me was $90 plus........only 450 minutes etc
The way my math works, this indeed will future proof the resale value of the phone. Let's say i keep it for only 6 months..........$75 x 6 = $450
Pretty much pays for the phone in a short period of time.

I know all the so called issues with unlimited data but i for one at least do no use much of this feature. BTW...........was streaming an awesome 1080p vid yesterday showing off my screen to some friends. Works fine. Have only used 309 MB od data in 12 days. Phone has no restrictions on it. I do however use wifi when it is available.

I buy and sell alot of cellphones.. It's just a bad habit I have. That's how I funded the no commitment purchase of my S3. Anyway, you will find that the pebble blue will be the easiest to sell (people who want blue + people who dont care). White will sell easily (people who want white + people who dont care - people who think white is feminine). Finally, the red. I believe it will be thought of exclusively as feminine and have the least demand. People who want red will love it.. You could get lucky, but your potential buyers would be limited.

While we are in the lull before the iPhone 5, I'm finally seeing people who are wanting to trade the 4S for a S3. Pretty much unheard of before the S2. Alot of people will trade a 4S for a Note as well. The Note, S2 and SkyRockets are priced around the 4S now, and selling well. So at the moment, resale vs iPhone isnt an issue. People are bored with iPhone and curious about Android...although they dont always like the switch.

Lastly, the S3 is going to finally change a big problem, accessories. with 9 million phones at launch and ALL of them being identical physically, we are going to start seeing alot of compatible accessories. And lets be honest, the lack of affordable and unique accessories is a bit of a let down for android devices. I think all of that is about to change. if carriers will let manufacturers release an entire line to all carriers without much change, this accessory problem will go away. and that will help resale alot. Buy a 2 year old android phone, then try to pop down to walmart or best buy for a case. yeah, not so much. Going forward, I think everyone is going to see the advantages of how the S3 launched.

oh and just recently, all the must have apps for iPhone users have found their way to google market. So, they see it as a alternative now, as they did not before.
