S3 vs Galaxy Note

Matrix Leader

Android Enthusiast
I and my mom have Galaxy S3's

now my GF also wants to switch from BlackBerry to Android

She watches a lot of her serial episodes online

few questions

1) is the S3 faster / better than the note?

2) she kind of likes the note a bit more since it has a bigger screen and a pen, would she miss anything by going for the Note as opposed to the S3?

3) I have the Adobe Flash Player APK backed up from my Galaxy, can I use that same APK on her Note to install it or it won't work? For her a Note without Adobe Flash is useless since it's vital for her to be able to view those espisodes, otherwise she will stick to the S3 so she can use my Adobe Flash Player apk

please answer in detail regarding speed, camera, etc.

The SIII destroys the note in all things but size.
There's an app in the market that pull flash from Adobe's servers.

also, what is the latest OS that the Note can run?

Im sure it won't have Jelly Bean right? But does it have Ice Cream Sandwich?

It's dead easy to get an .apk of Adobe Flash. Install the latest Adobe Flash on an ICS device (S3 for that matter) and back it up with Astro File Manager. There you have your apk. No need to pull it from Adobe's server.

Just wait for the Galaxy Note II, which is going to be announced in a few days from now, and then judge whether you want the S3 or the Note.

As of now, the Galaxy S3 surpasses the Note: the current Galaxy Note is shipped with ICS, so it should support Adobe Flash Player by default. My S3 came with it already installed.

My wife has the Note and loves it.

It currently has ICS (4.0.4) but I read somewhere that the Note, along with the galaxy S2, would both get Jelly Bean by the end of the year.

If your gf can wait til the Note 2 comes out then get that, if not there's some good deals on the Note ( in the UK )

The Note 2 will just be a bigger version of the S3 with slightly faster processor, just like the Note was to the S2.

That's easily fixed with root, just overclock the S3. Got Mine at 1.6GHz for daily use. :)

Allot of users are hoping it's going to use a Dual Core A15 with new Mali GPU and I just don't see it happening, if they do there will be allot of very annoyed S3 users out there.

I got my SIII at 1.9 on demand.

NA or International?

Like everyone else says, wait for note 2.
if she does like having a pen, I'm sure she'll be happy with the note 2. I mean, I can't see Samsung messing up anytime soon.

Are you sure it's stable? I've run benchmarks at these speeds but games start to freeze up and it gets a bit warm.

Also might help to know which version of the S3 your using.

Verizon SIII seems stable so far haven't crashed and its been a week.

When's the
Note 2 release date?

And noone mentioned anything with regards to my question about S3 vs Note (current version)

SGS3:
4.8 inch screen
4.0.4 ICS (soon to be JB 4.1)
smaller, no stylus
has more "motion" features like tap to top, smart stay, direct call, etc..

Note:
5.3 inch screen
4.0.4 ICS (not sure if JB will come)
larger, has stylus

I have used SGS3 side by side with a Note and the SGS3 has been faster just by a bit. You'll notice a little delay on the Note but only if you've just recently used the SGS3. If you have it alone, I don't think you can notice it.

Thanks man! this is the exact answer I Was looking for !

If you're going to compare the SGS3 with the Note, compare it with the Note 2.

If you can't wait for the Note 2, go with the SGS3. It's the best smartphone of 2012 in terms of quality and reliability.

Does she makes a lot of phone calls? i know it might sound weird but from my experience a lot of customers tend to return it due to its sheer size. They felt odd having against the face. Something to keep in mind. The quality like others said tho is SG3 is above the note, and the screen provides richer colors. Note 2 should be out soon within the next 2 month i think.
