Help S3 Weird Charging behaviour

Here's an interesting problem, would be glad if anyone could help. For a couple of weeks now I have been having problems getting my S3 to charge. When plugged into a standard S3 cable (the one that came with it) it charges stupidly slowly (we are talking in terms of a percent or two overnight). It seems to hold it's battery well however, so I assumed there was a problem with the charger. However, when I replaced the charging cable for my friend's (which is an S4 standard cable), it charged fine. So I bought a new cable. But that had the same problem as my original s3 charger. What I have found (after swapping cables around) is that the only cable that will charge my phone is the S4 one, yet the S3 one charges my friend's phone without a problem, and used to charge mine fine.

what on earth is going on????!?!

Any suggestions??

You may have a bad contacts on the charging terminals where the cable connects to the phone. I have a problem where when I use my S3 while charging from time to time it would act like I took it out and put it back in (It made that charging sound). Only luck I had is using my old EVO V charger where the clampers are more outward and gets a good hold on the charging/usb contacts inside the phone(where the micro usb goes in).
