This problem started with a replacement phone. On my first phone, I never had any problems with this router/access point. The IP address should be getting set to something in the 192.168.10.2x range, however, it's always getting set to 192.168.1.135
If I go to static, and enter an address in the range it should be, all is fine, but when set to DHCP, it always comes back as 192.168.1.135.
It should be noted that the DHCP server in the router is OFF, as there is a DHCP server elsewhere on the network, and this router is simply serving as an access point.
It seems to be ONLY this one WiFi point, all the others I've configured to appear to work fine.
My new phone is an imaged copy of the old one, where everything worked fine. By "imaged" I mean I made a ClockworkMod backup of the old phone, and did a recovery of this ROM image to the new phone (yes, both phones rooted). The old phone still works OK on this access point (haven't returned it yet, cracked screen).
It should also be noted that when I go to the WiFi settings and choose "Static", the greyed number in static IP field is 192.168.1.135, which vanishes as soon as you start keying the static address you want.
I've found close references to this problem elsewhere on the web (similar descriptions, but nothing to indicate it was the SAME problem). No solutions found.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here? What system file is at issue, or...?
Please help if you can.
