S4 "stealing" ip address

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and this is my first Android phone (former iPhone user), so please be kind!

So I've just bought a new Galaxy S4. When I'm at work I use the studio wifi connection (which works fine), but when I do, my phone "steals" my colleagues IP address rendering him unable to connect to the internet. I never had this problem with them iPhone.

Apologies if this is a common issue, but I am yet to find an answer anywhere else on the net.

Any ideas?

Hello welcome to AF.

I've come across something similar before, you connect one device and it knocks another device off the network, like it's not allocating IP addresses correctly. Try resetting the WiFi AP/router first, in case it's acting funky. If that still doesn't work, see if there's a software upgrade for it.
