Help S5 camera failed

Newbie
I have had 2 s5's both with the camera failed error. The first one I had for 4 days before it happened. I did some searching and found that they are just giving a new phone since there is no fix so I got a new phone. 4 days later, it happened again. This time verizon wanted me to send it to Samsung so I reluctantly did. Everybody I talked to at Samsung acted like they hadn't dealt with the camera fail error so i was not optimistic. I told them that it doesn't do it every time, when it does do it I restart the phone and it works again for a few days. So they say they couldn't find anything wrong and sent it back. So I still have a brand new $600 phone that has a crappy camera. I went into Verizon to get another phone and they said that they would but that one might do it too and they are waiting for an update from Samsung and it is a software issue. I called Samsung again and they said that it is a hardware issue and to send it in again. Is anybody else having this problem or do i have the lucky phone? Does anybody have any new info on this problem?

That was a very common problem with the first release of phones.

All of the phones in the current batch of new ones are good to go.

I have Verizon, have them send you a new one and it will be a good one.

In 15 years, I have always been able to get Verizon to work with me and make me happy.

Not sure if it's connected, but ever since my OTA Kitkat update on my S3, my camera has started failing just like yours. Restarting usually fixes it temporarily.

I have had that happen to me at times as well and I restart the phone and it is fine again however, I am on At&t so it probably is hardware and first batches.

I'm on T-Mobile and I'm getting camera failed and other issues such as complete lockup... And this is with the second S-5 T-Mobile sent me.
