S5 camera underwater

So I took the plunge and tested the gs5 in water. It is freaking amazing. Everything works well and takes great videos. Have not been able to do underwater still shots but I am speechless. If someone can explain how to upload videos onto here I will share. And BTW I am writing this using the s5 well after swimming with it. I suggest you don't make that a habit, it is "resistant" to water, not immune to water.

that means getting water splashed on it, not submerging it as general practice.

keep your bad habit up and you will be buying a new phone.

Resistance they describe is submerged in water up to 3 feet for 30 minutes so therefore I can do this without an issue as long as its not submerged for more than half an hour. So ur saying my 100ft water resistant watch can only handle splashes haha. They have to mark everything with water resistant which is the point at which it will take on water and run the device. They can not say anything is waterproof cuz eventually something will take on water what's the requirements are met that's why they say it's resistant which is up to 3 feet in water for half an hour

So long as the device is sealed properly with slots plugged you shouldn't have any problem in shallow water.

Not sure I would be so trusting of the seals on the device but technically you should be fine. ;)

PS: Nice photo :)

I haven't been able to get my screen to work under water... is there something "special" you do to get the touch to work? Do you have the sensitivity on normal or turned up for "glove use"? Thanks!

yeah i have used my S5 under water too, works so damn well. Hope it will keep doing fine

Would love to tempt this, but with my wireless charging piece under the back, I worry that there is a slight bulge that will allow water in. I should pop it off and go for it!
I guess if something happened, I could resort to my warranty.

Just chiming in to point out that water renders the touchcreen useless when submerged or there are droplets on it. I have had some random zooming problems.

Also, use the volume button to snap a still shot while submerged :)

are there any special cases you can buy to make it into an underwater camera?
