Help S5 Running dog slow

Can you download "Diskinfo" from the play store and run it. In settings select, show mount path, expert mode and show unmounted partitions. Does that give you any clues? You should be able to see file system details etc and you'll see if your SD card is mountable and writable.

Also if you have enough free space can you make a Nandroid backup to internal memory, this will show that TWRP is working and you can then copy the backup to your PC.

tried diskinfo and it looks like the sd card is mounted

i am unable to select internal storage for back up it says 0MB within TWRP

should i try to use a different back up like CWM? cant find a download for this though

same thing happened with Phils CWM

just had a thought as I use my phone for work (its my own phone and not a work one), gmail insists on the phone being encrypted!!!

could this be why it is not allowing me to mount the back up to micro sd ?

I would stick with TWRP as it is well supported and devloped compared to CWM . Is there a TWRP forum that you can try for support?

Yeah installed and tried that and it's the same thing

I'm thinking it could be to do wit my phone being encrypted.
So trying to decrypt it and try again.
Otherwise thought about doing a factory reset and then trying to create a back up and install the new Ron
Also made a post on xda for help

When you are backing up in TWRP... you are selecting "Storage: Micro SDcard (***** MB)", aren't you?

Did CWM not work either? Not sure about the encryption issue but I can't see why that would affect it, its just data after all albeit encrypted data.

So got to the end of this
Tried the decrypt, it didn't work and phone was buggered a bit
Then decided what the hell and tried to flash the new rom and....... It worked and it's soooo much quicker.
Thanks a lot for your help guys, I still don't know what the solution is

So what ROM did you install?

I think you still need to get your recovery sorted as you need a backup option. Did you get Philz recovery working?

Yes just managed to create a back up, reckon there mustve been an issue with the local partition.
It gave me the option to back up to local disc as well now
