Help S6 edge with no edge.

Can't seem to get the function to work correctly. I've turned everything on that was necessary, still no results

This is one thing I am kinda disappointed with, edge screen only comes on when the screen is locked and you swipe up and down on the edge, or in "night mode" - AFAIK it's not like the note edge where it can run at the same time as the main screen. The other thing that is a disappointment, is the People edge feature which only works when the phone is face down - REALLY?? who wants to put a gorgeous phone like this FACE DOWN to get the people edge colour bar notification? Also, Samsung's Clear View case more or less disables the edge screen functions... somewhat frustrating
