s6 keeps switching on

hi guys

about a week ago my home botton and power button stopped working for a few mintues. after managin to doing a reboot my phone now keeps turning on by itself when its on standby as if the home button is being pressed. anyone know what the problem is and how i can fix it as its annoying me alot

I've never had that issue. Sounds really strange. Have you tried checking display settings? Also, check any of your recently installed apps to see if one of them may have a feature that wakes the display. Otherwise you may need to contact Samsung.

I have checked display settings and uninstalled any recent downloaded apps. I can only think of 3 possible issues causing the problem

1- sensor on top of the phone. during the night it doesn't happen as much
2- home button is damaged. I saw a vid on youtube saying rubbing alcohol cleaner on it works. iv not tried that but up and til today when I rubbed it with my thumb it would fix it temporarily
3- virus on the phone.

I did a live chat with Samsung about an hour ago and was told to do a factory reset but I really don't want to do that unless I really have to

have an update for you guys. i cant express how disappointed i am with samsung. I took it to them for repairs, im under warrenty until july. they took my phone and said its free repairs unless the phone is stolen/water damage or been rooted.

none of the 3 applied to me or so i thought. a day later they rang and said come collect your phone. when i went to collect they said it was water damage to the usb port and motherboard and they they dont cover that and charged me £20 for the inspection because the problem was due to water damage.

does anyone know if its worth getting the phone fixed or get a new one now?
