S6 Screen Spot stops working

After 6 months of solid performance, suddenly my S6, in the top left corner of the home page, the location of the "back arrow", fails to respond on touch. Only a reboot resolves the issue. The phone can work for hours then suddenly that spot stops working. Advice?

While it's not the same phone,I believe they share a lot of internals,the solution may be the same.
