S7 constantly says it rebooted

So, this started Sunday. I have my phone set so that if I ever reboot, I have to enter my password before it boots up (so, before the lock screen). However, I'd say 80% of the time on the lock screen, my phone is now saying, "Your phone was restarted and needs to be unlocked with the password...." Considering that it's on the lock screen, I have a feeling it's not really rebooting. Thoughts on what could be the problem?

I have rebooted my phone (this is also how I know it asks for a password before it actually boots up). The only thing I have done is upgrade my Waze, then been fighting that stupid app because it conveniently forgot all my info, uninstalled it, installed an older version (which is what I had before and had no issues). The only other thing I've done is downloaded the Seconds app from the Play store. I've removed both and rebooted and still having this issue.

I've noticed this same issue recently, mainly over the last two weeks. At first, I wondered if I had rebooted and didn't remember. But when I unlock and the screen is still on the same app that I had opened earlier, I know it didn't really reboot. Very odd, but I'm going to wipe the cache partition and see if that helps. I just did this a week or so ago, so I'm not sure why I have to do it again as I haven't had a software update since then.

I think it's a glitch with the latest update. Even after clearing it went a while then did it again, so I cleared it and and went away and so far hasn't came back

Thank you. I just wiped the cache partition and hoping it'll work.

As a side note, when I booted up into recovery mode, it said, "installing system update" and then it showed an android, dead, with an X over it. Great. Did something just fail too? I hope not.

No that was just if you had any commands I believe. On a side note mine worked for a week and is now doing it over and over again and blue tooth keeps losing connectivity. I'm amuse done with this s7:(

Bummer. I cleared out the cache partition like 3 times. It seemed to hold it off a bit longer, but it always returns. I hope they fix that soon. I love this phone, but ugh, the weird little glitches are killing me.

I talked to AT&T yesterday and they said it's not an update issue, she remotely looked through my phone and said all is good. She suggested doing a factory reset and If it does it after that they will warranty me a new phone.

I kinda didn't want to go the refurb route as I know that's what I'll get as a replacement, nor do I want to do a factory reset. Ugh! BTDT soooo many times already. But I hear ya, I'm about ready to go that route because mine won't stop doing the rebooting. On the upside, the stupid sd card notification has kinda gone away. One issue replaces the other. Joy. Good luck!
