S7 Factory Reset Problems

My new S7 auto reset after my kid entered an incorrect PIN too many times. Ok, sucks to be me, I can just start over - but now I can not access my the phone because apparently my google password has changed. So while I can get into my google account via my laptop using my new password, apparently my S7 needs my old password to unlock. This means when it asks me to enter the Google account user name and password registered with the phone, I can sign in on the phone but get the "Please sign in using one of the owner's accounts" message. I read somewhere that the phone will only unlock with the password it was registered with.

I have tried to do another factory reset but once again it apparently wants the old password. Is my new S7 just a pretty brick now? Anyone want a 7 year old?

You are out of luck.
The only way you can ever unlock your device is having proof and verify that the device belongs and was purchased by you.
Keep us posted on this situation. From my previous experience helping others, they kept some form of receipt and was able to present it and the service provider was able to help them. As for your google account, how the heck did a 7 year old change it? That part of your story seems very sketchy... GL!
