Help S8 stuck on green Download screen and can't escape it whatsoever.

when I power on my phone it starts with a white screen then after minute or so it goes into the "Download - Do not turn off target". I tried the button combination which makes the screen go black but then loops back to green screen in a matter of seconds.

if it stays in download mode you should be ok. you can download a stock firmware from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/.just make sure that you download the right firmware for your model phone.

you will need to use odin to flash the firmware. here is a guide for you:

I'm guessing this would wipe everything which is a shame. Any idea what causes this?

no idea. was this randomly all of a sudden? after an update? regardless sounds like your partitions where the os resides got corrupted.

and yes you have already lost your data. there is no way of recovering it.......sorry.

so odin can sometimes be very finicky. make sure that if you have any antiviral software disabled. try using a different cable. i would also try maybe an older version of odin and even a different computer.

Since the S6, Samsung firmware comes in four parts. Can no longer just flash the AP file. You have to put each portion in its proper slot in Odin. BL- AP- CP & CSC.
Your download should include CSC and a CSC Home. Use plain CSC to completely erase data or CSC Home to save your data.

Can you do this instead of taking a picture of the PC screen. Hold the Windows key and the prt sc button to take a screenshot. It should go to the screenshots folder. Then we can see the errors.
