I think it would have been better to cast someone less known opposite Henry Cavill. You could easily have made a similar argument for RDJ as Iron Man. Affleck has the acting chops. I'm not so sure about the action (haven't seen The Town). My position for Batman vs Superman is the same as Man of Steel was: Wait and see.
What, you want to actually see what the film is like before condemning it? You do realize that this is the internet, don't you?
