Saddest movie you have ever seen?

Wrath of khan. Spock snuffing it gets me every time. I'm actually getting a little choked right now [sniff].

Shatners acting also makes me want to weep.

Anyone who doesn't shed a tear watching TJ Hooker must be some kind of robot.

Someone reminded me of two today! Gran Torino and Sad Movie.

Sad Movie is a Korean film, so if anyone here is into those check it out. I thought it was going to be funny cause of the title.. it was defiantly more of a warning. =(
 
Marley & Me seems to be a common answer, it got me good. Ever After makes me cry but maybe not in a sad way. P.S. I Love You ALWAYS gets me...thats my vote for this.
 
Saddest movie... Schindler's List.

That is the saddest and most heart-breaking war film about the Holocaust I have ever seen. It depicts the horrors of the Holocaust and war, the tragedy of Jewish nation, and I know, this film could be directed by a Jew, who keeps these horrible times and crimes against humanity in his heart. The tagline says "Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire". The film shows us that no human life can be replaced by another one, and that there is nothing more valuable than HUMAN LIFE.

Best wishes to the Human's future! Hope the past tragedies never happen, ever!
 
End of Armageddon, Bridge to terabethia, my daughter is the same age(or so) and we watched it together. Great movie but damn....... sad as hell

This ^

If you've ever talked to someone who survived a concentration camp it will leave you shaken. Even this movie can't really convey the horror that those who lived through this endured. One of the most disturbing and disgusting parts of mankind's history. It's still hard to imagine one human being could do this to another human being.

I also get teary eyed at the end of Saving Private Ryan when he asks his wife if he's a good man and if he lived a good life. So moving.

I think movies based on real-life tragic events where the human spirit triumphs are the most stirring.
 
The Saddest movie ever i have ever seen is A Walk To Remember,
This movie was awesome. I went with a bunch of friends both guys and girls and it wasn't uncomfortable to be with them like some other movies. It was very sad at the end but it was all in all an excellent movie.
 
the last air bender. i hated the twist at the beginning when you find out it will be nothing like the series, i cried and cried, im still not over it.

if we are being serious about GOOD movies, welll all i can say is "brookes was here" and if you dont know what that means, i pity you.
 
I am sure many of you never heard of this movie but I would suggest you to see "Grave of the Fireflies"

It is about a brother and a sister living in wartime Japan based on a true story. The film is animated, in Japanese (may have a dubbed version but suggest seeing it in Japanese with subtitles, cause some of the meaning can be lost in translation) and really pulls at the heart strings. It really made me sad after viewing.
 
+1 for "Grave of the Fireflies" being one of the most effed up, sad movies I've ever seen...but because it's animated, it doesn't get me too much.

"Dancer in the Dark", starring Bjork, is absolutely the saddest film I've seen.

It's a about a blind immigrant, who happens to be a single mom, trying to raise money for an operation to save her son's eyesight. Her landlord steals the money, and she beats him over the head to get the money back. Long story short, she gets sentenced to death and is hung in the final scene.

Without wanting to double post (between this topic and the scary movies topic) I'll just say any film that winds up with a child being badly hurt or dying tends to get me every time. That includes "My Girl" and "Bridge to Terabithia".

I don't think I've ever cried at/because of a movie, but they can and do affect me. I've been reminded, first by my mother, and more recently by my wife, that I'm not a Vulcan. Doesn't seem to change the fact though...
 
The end of Precious had me. I actually felt bad for the mother at the end.

The Green Mile.

The Passion of the Christ is kinda confusing, but I had to mention it. I dont know if its because of what he went thru (which was sad) or cuz he rose up at the end, (which made me happy) but that movie....either gave me extreme tears of sadness or extreme tears of joy...

All this time I have never seen Schindler's List. Imma have to check it out.

I think I teared up at the end of Valkyrie, when Tom Cruise yells "Long live sacred Germany" because of how bad-ass it was. His buddy, when he stands in front of him. Not German or anything, so no nationalism there. Screw it, here's the clip.

Schindlers List, great movie, great cast and it does really hit your gut time after time.

The Green Mile, one of my favorite movies of all time - but each time it guts me up, think I will never get used to that movie.

Gran Torino, I'm very very touchy on rape subject and it doesn't make it better then the person you get very attached to says bye bye either.

You also have some series/movie that can gut me up, but children does a lot like some have said. Never fun to see they with diseases and struggeling. Medical movies/certain medical series where you get a real attachment to a person can also end up with a towel next to me. xD
