Help Safe Chargers

in general terms, any device that uses the mini-USB charging cable with work with any charger module.

some just might not provide enough current to charge a high capacity battery at the normal rate you would expect.

I have several chargers on my desk and around the house.
I never even give a thought as to what each is capable of , and use them to charge phones, and my little BT earbug, and my bigger trucker's BT headset.... my Kindle eBook reader.....

it just does not matter, they all work, some faster than others.

I know you shouldn't use chargers that aren't for your tablet but is there a way to make it safe?

You don't make it safe, you buy a charger that has been certified to meet national safety standards. In USA/Canada, buy charges that are UL listed (shown in photo below), in the European Union, buy chargers that carry the "CE" mark.

You also need a charger with the right output, if your device needs 2A, then you buy a charger with an output of 2A. In the photo below, the original charger from Samsung has an output of 2.0A. If you want to buy a charger or use a different charger, make sure it is UL listed and it has an output of 2A or higher.

@pentel what you say is good, up to a point.

you do NOT have to have a charger that meets the exact specifications of the OEM that came with the device.

Any charger that is UL listed, and provides the proper 5V output can be used, even if it is only 1A or gawd forbid 0.5A

the only thing that will happen is the device will be a lot slower to charge up to full capacity.
There is even a benefit to this, it lowers the temperatures created while charging the battery. and that will give the battery longer life.

as I said in my post, I have a lot of chargers in my home, and only 2 of them are OEM 2.1 Amp Samsung chargers. the rest of them are stuff that I bought off of eBay years ago, and they all work, and they charge everything I have to full capacity. they just take longer.
