safe mode

Welcome to Android Forums!

If your Android device is still wet, DO NOT try to operate it! In fact, pull the battery if you can or power it down immediately. Put everything in a ziplock bag full of uncooked rice, seal the bag shut and let it sit untouched in a warm place for 24-48 hours. The rice will absorb MOST of the moisture out of the device.

Never try to operate a wet device: you will increase the damage.

If the device is dry and reading safe mode, then we need more information: what device do you have?

Hi tort, and welcome to AF,

When did it get wet?

If a phone gets wet you should immediately remove the battery (if possible - hard power down if not), shake what water you can off it, then stick it in a bag of uncooked rice for a couple of days to draw moisture out. Do not use heat to dry it and absolutely do not turn it on).

Once it's dry, you just have to hope that there is no corrosion damage. That is pretty much all you can do. If moisture is detected (phones usually have moisture indicators inside them) you have no warranty any more.

Sorry I don't have better news. All I can say is that if there's any possibility that there is still moisture in the device try what I suggested above, even if it's very late.

Good luck.
